On the 2nd of June Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur opened an exhibition dedicated to the Russian Language Day and 219th Anniversary of the birth of famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. The event was attended by many public figures who love Russian culture and also students of RCSC Russian language courses.
The guests of the program watched a film about the Russian poet, his biography to find out interesting facts about his life and answer the questions posed afterwards. Students recited their favorite poems such as ‘I loved you once…’, ‘To Chaadaev’, ‘Winter Morning’ and others. Children from Saturday Russian language school prepared a brief prologue ‘By Lukomorie’ from romantic poem ‘Ruslan and Ludmila’.
After lyrical part of the event, guests had a chance to try traditional Russian dishes and continued their discussion about the life of Pushkin at the tea. Some listeners discovered the great works of the poet they had never heard before, sometimes tragic but beautiful at the same time.
