On the 21st of July Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur hosted a classical music recital by talented Malaysian musicians - national and international piano award winners and existing members of the Chopin Society Malaysia.
Chopin Society Malaysian is a non-profit organization which was formed in Malaysia 17 years ago. It carries the mission of promoting Russian and European culture to Malaysian public and actively cooperates with the Russian Cultural Centre since 2009.
The main performer of the concert was Sufiya Ainan Taufik – young Malaysian violinist, who has been playing the violin since 4 years old. Sufiya has performed Concerto Op. 48 for Violin and Orchestra by Dmitri Kabalevsky, Banjo and Fiddle by William Kroll and other famous pieces. Among other performers were Tengku Mohamad Hadif, Jack Yeo Zhu Ziang, Ashley and Nicole Ooi, who performed classical pieces by Russian and foreign composers - Rachmaninoff, Antonin Dvorak, Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf.
The concert was attended by Malaysian public, Russian expats living in Malaysia, parents and friends of young musicians, who have truly enjoyed the recital. After the concert, the president of Chopin Society Malaysia Datin Viera Sarina Shah congratulated young performers with a successful recital and thanked Russian Centre of Science and Culture for organizing this event.
