Malaysian guitarists performed a piece from “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky

On the 13th of July the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur held a classical music concert by Malaysian guitar teacher Hong Tee and her students from “Allegro Music and Arts Academy”.

“Allegro” is a premier specialist school for music, art and dance, organizing classical concerts and special performances by the lecturers and students of the school, as well as the Russian classical music recitals. Throughout many years the Russian Cultural Centre has been working closely with the Academy.

The July concert featured famous works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Agustin Barrios, Nikita Koshkin and other composers. The concert was attended by Russian expats living in Malaysia, representatives of the Russian missions abroad and Malaysian publics. As a special surprise for the Russian Centre, Hong Tee and a guitar quartet played the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” – one of the most famous melodies in a ballet “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky.

Everyone truly enjoyed the recital and thanked musicians with long standing ovations. After the concert guests were took photos with guitarists and wished them more successful performances in the near future.
